Noal Cohen's note from his Benny Powell Discography:
Omit Arif Mardin (p) on 8.
According to the LP liner notes, the remaining nine tracks of this issue involve different horns (not including Benny Powell), strings and backup vocals augmenting the same Muscle Shoals-based rhythm section. The trumpet solo on track 8 is by Joe Newman and the alto saxophone solo on track 11 by Charlie Mariano. The horns are overdubbed.
Recorded late 1968 at Atlantic Recording Studios; Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, NY and Muscle Shoals, AL
Released on LP by Atlantic (USA) SD 8222
